ROCHESTER, Minn. — Arthur F. “Art” Hash, 77, of Eyota, Minnesota, died Thursday, April 29, 2021 at Seasons Hospice in Rochester.
Art was born May 20, 1943, in Detroit, to Fulton and Bertha (Dutton) Hash. He graduated from Handy High School in 1961. On Nov. 16, 1963, Art married the love of his life, Carol Balwinski, in Bay City, Michigan, where they made their home and raised their two children. He worked at General Motors for 33 years.
In 1999, Art and Carol moved “up north” to Oscoda, Michigan, and in 2002 moved farther “up north” to live on Lake Gogebic in Bergland, Michigan. There Art lived out his dream of fishing every day and being a deer whisperer — wild deer ate from his hand! In 2016, Art and Carol moved to Eyota, to be near their daughter and her family.
He is survived by his wife, Carol; daughter, Angela (Robert) Stroope, of Rochester; son, Rodney Hash, of Chehalis, Washington; three grandsons, Ty Stroope, Gage (Sammie) Stroope and Elias Arthur Stroope; and one great-granddaughter, Penelope Stroope. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
A private gathering was held. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to Seasons Hospice of Rochester.
