IRONWOOD, Mich. - James L. Mylly Sr., 67, of Ironwood, passed away at his home on Sunday, June 6, 2021, surrounded by his family.
James was born on April 7, 1954, in Ironwood to Leonard and Julia (Haukkala) Mylly. He was united in marriage on Oct. 28, 1978, to Dawn Anderson-Korpela. James drove for Halvor Lines Trucking for 24 years, driving many years with Dawn across the country.
James loved the outdoors; fishing, hunting, camping, or going to the camp with the guys. He was a carpenter and loved to build things, he also enjoyed playing a good game of horseshoes. Most of all, James loved spending time with his grandchildren.
He will be missed by his wife, Dawn; children, Jessica (Daniel) Bolich, Jimmy Jr., and Carrie and Jason Mylly; grandchildren, Travis, Taylor, Caitlin Mylly, Alexis Osterholm, Daniel Bolich Jr., and Kassidy Bolich; sister-in-law, Cookie Fisher; 28 nieces and nephews; 33 great-nieces and nephews; seven great-great-nieces and nephews; and his loving dog, Trixi.
James was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Trevor; and his brothers and sisters, David, Douglas, Darleen and Dorothy.
A visitation will take place at the McKevitt-Patrick Funeral Home on Monday, June 14, from noon to 1 p.m., with a memorial service to follow. Inurnment will take place at Riverside Cemetery in Ironwood.
