WOODVILLE, Wis. — Louis Tolvanen, age 69, died on Monday, June 14, 2021, at Parkview Community Campus in Woodville.
Louis was born the son of Edwin and Bette Tolvanen on June 19, 1951, in Saint Petersburg, Florida. He grew up in Miami, graduating from Miami Edison High School, class of 1969. Louis attended college in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan when he met Debrah Pelkola. They married on Nov. 28, 1970, in Ironwood, Michigan.
Louis worked for 27 years in the Iron Range in Minnesota and later worked as a welder and fabricator at Superior Minerals in Savage, Minnesota. He was a carpenter and woodworker. Louis loved fishing. He was outgoing, friendly, and caring.
Louis is preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Bette; parents-in-law, Eugene and Helvie Pelkola; and grandson, Timothy Monio Jr.
He is survived by his wife, Debrah; children, Michael (Heather), Benjamin (Karen), and Amanda (Tim) Monio; grandchildren, Camden, Noel, Tyler and Gabe; sister, Pat (George) Jarkesy; and many other relatives and friends.
There will be a private family gathering at later date.
