NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. - Michelle Miller passed away on Aug. 27, 2021, in Newport Beach, as a result of COVID pneumonia.
She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Richard A. Miller O.D .; her daughter, Whitney K. Miller of Huntington Beach; and her son, Max D. Miller (Mel), of Buffalo, New York.
She is further survived by her mother, Kathy Curry of Saginaw, Michigan; her sisters, Pam Fouch (Raymond) of Traverse City, Michigan, and Annette (David) Povich of Fort Myers, Florida; and her brother, Mathew (Cynthia) Curry of Huntington Beach. She is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Morgan L. Curry; and her brother, Morgan V. Curry.
Michelle was born Feb. 22, 1959, and grew up in Saginaw and enjoyed many camping trips with her family all over the United States when she was young. She especially loved Timber Shores in Northport, Michigan, near her family's cottage. She graduated from Northern Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing in 1981.
Michelle was employed as a registered nurse in Saginaw, and at Aspirus-Ironwood (formerly Grand View Hospital) for 35 years.
Michelle loved caring for birds and flowers, and enjoyed reading, boating, camping and traveling. Retirement allowed her to spend winters in Florida and summers in Ironwood. She enjoyed beading and made beautiful jewelry and ornaments for her family and friends.
Michelle was a warm, outgoing person who cared deeply for all her friends, co-workers and family. She loved life and interacting with people. She was a happy, beautiful woman inside and out with a calming demeanor. She will be dearly missed by her family and her many friends. She was a great example of selflessness and left a legacy for her children and husband to remember her by. She will always be their shining star.
