Frank Pusakulich

IRONWOOD TOWNSHIP, Mich. - Frank Pusakulich, 94, of Ironwood Township, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2021.

Frank was born on July 29, 1927, in Ramsay, a son of George and Anna (Soztonich) Pusakulich. He attended the Ramsay School and A.D. Johnston High School.

Frank worked in Detroit for a few years, and returned to the area and worked at the Penokee Mine until its closing. He concluded his working career at White Pine Copper Mine, and retired in 1988.

Frank was first married to Carol Belanger in 1950. She preceded him in death in 1951.

On May 4, 1957, he was united in marriage to Elvie M. Maki at the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Ironwood by the Rev. A.L. Maki.

Frank was a member of the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church. He enjoyed biking, fishing, skiing and going to his cottage on beautiful Lake Gogebic. Frank was an avid sports fan who supported the Milwaukee Bucks, Detroit Tigers and Green Bay Packers. He especially enjoyed watching his granddaughter, Tiah's, softball games.

Frank is survived by his loving wife, Elvie; a daughter, Suzanne (Ronald) Wiedemeier, Fall Creek, Wisconsin; a son, Mark (Kathy) Pusakulich, Ironwood; two granddaughters, Laura (Jeremy) Irish, Gleason, Wisconsin, and Tiah Pusakulich, Negaunee; seven great-grandchildren, Luke (Agnes), Zachary, Anna Grace, Elisabeth, Mary Rose, Frances and Carolyn Irish; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides his first wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; nine brothers, George, Andrew, Charles, Ben, Michael, Jack and three in infancy, Peter, Steve and Charles; and three sisters, Julia, Ann and Mary.

Out of respect for his wishes, cremation has taken place.

The family is honoring Frank's life in a private funeral service at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church. The Rev. Nicole Hanson-Lynn will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, P.O. 705, Ironwood, MI 49938.
