ONTONAGON, Mich. - James "Jamie" Charles Oger, 44, of Ontonagon, passed away on Nov. 25, 2021, at Aspirus Ontonagon Hospital.
Jamie was born in L'Anse to Lawrence John Oger and Nancy Ann (Theriault) Oger on Dec. 9, 1977. He graduated from L'Anse High School in 1996. He married Maryanne (Dunlap) Oger on Oct. 27, 2018, in Ontonagon.
Jamie worked as a certified welding inspector and educator for many years. He was a welding instructor at Southern Technical College in Florida. In the past he had worked for the Ontonagon Intermediate School District and was currently working for the Copper Country Intermediate School District. He was a member of the Ontonagon Golf Club and enjoyed spending time with his family, going to camp, and working on projects at home.
Jamie is survived by his loving wife, Maryanne Oger; children, Becca Oger of Calumet, Johnathon Oger of Alston, Neil Bradley of Virginia, Emily Bradley of Wyoming, and Kaylee and Jamie Oger of Ontonagon; siblings, Tim (Becky) Oger of Michigan, Rick (Cassie) Oger of Colorado, David (Michelle) Oger of Colorado, Diane (Chris) Rexford of Ishpeming, and Katie (Matt) Sterbenz of Ironwood; his parents, Lawrence and Nancy Oger of Alston; many cousins; and an abundance of nieces and nephews.
Jamie was preceded in death by his uncles, Steve Edward Oger of Colorado and Ronald Thomas Oger of Alston; and his grandparents, Jim and Violet Theriault of L'Anse, John and Aileen Oger of Alston, and Jim Hiltunen.
A celebration of life will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 9, at the Ontonagon Golf Course. Pastor Jay Welshonse will be leading the opening prayer.
