WHITE PINE, Mich. - Donna Skoviak White, 82, of White Pine passed away on Dec. 26, 2021, after a battle with cancer. She was a fighter to the end. She was a three-time cancer surviver, but those battles over 30 years had taken their toll and she couldn't beat it this time.
Donna was born to John Skoviak and Pauline (Chopp) Skoviak on Feb. 7, 1939, in Trimountain. She spent her early years in Painsdale, and moved to Ontonagon in the mid 1940s. In 1953, they moved to White Pine and purchased the family home that she lived in at the time of her passing.
Donna graduated from Ontonagon High School in 1957. She enjoyed her days doing puzzles, crosswords watching her soaps and spending time with her family, her cat Abby and grand-cat Charlie.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Robert White; her big brother and sister-in-law, John (Yaka) and Joy Skoviak; and her little sister, Rita Saari.
She is survived by her children, Karen (Shawn) Laine of Eveleth, Minnesota, Jimmer (Luci) Noble of Callahan, Florida, Susan (Michelle) LaRose of Eagle River, Wisconsin, John (Becky) Noble of Buffalo, Minnesota, and Bobbi Jo (Josh) Gosnell of Eagle River, Wisconsin; her stepchildren, Roberta, Tammy and Ronnie White of Michigan; her brother and sister-in-law, Frano and Jo-Ann Skoviak of White Pine; her brother, Clem Skoviak of White Pine; brother-in-law, Don Saari of White Pine; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Harvey "Kay" and Carol White of Iron River, Michigan; 19 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and her 23-year-old cat, Abby.
We know Donna is enjoying a cuppa coffee in paradise with all her loved ones that were waiting there for her. A celebration of life and burial will be held in the Spring and announced at a later date.
The Cane Funeral Home of Ontonagon is assisting the family.
