2 arrested on drug charges

OMA, Wis. — The Gogebic-Iron Area Narcotics Team arrested two individuals on a variety of drug charges after executing a search warrant on Riverside Road in the town of Oma on Jan. 21.

George Clark, 35, and Kristi Sordahl, 39, were lodged in the Iron County Jail. They appeared in Iron County Circuit Court before Judge Anthony Stella on Jan. 23.

Clark is charged with four counts of delivery of methamphetamine, and one count each of: possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine, keeper of a drug house, possession with intent to deliver marijuana, felon in possession of a firearm and possession of drug paraphernalia. During Clark’s court appearance, his bond was changed from $5,000 cash to $2,000 cash, according to a release from GIANT team leader and Ironwood Public Safety Department Sgt. Matthew Sterbenz.

Sordahl was charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. During Sordahl’s court appearance her bond was changed from $1,000 cash to a $3,000 signature bond, the release said.

“Over the course of several months GIANT had been gathering information on suspected sales and use of methamphetamine at the residence. During the investigation, controlled buys were executed, where crystal methamphetamine was purchased,” said the release.

During the search of the residence, officers did locate methamphetamine, marijuana, a firearm (revolver), drug paraphernalia, and other evidence connected to the distribution and use of controlled substances, said the release.

“GIANT would like to remind the citizens of the Gogebic and Iron County area to take the time to report suspicious activities. In doing such, they (the citizen) can take satisfaction in helping to reduce drug distribution and abuse in our community.
