WAKEFIELD, Mich. - Cayley Olivia Schnell, age 21, passed away on Jan. 26, 2022, at her home in Wakefield, after suffering severe complications from lupus.
Cayley was born on July 12, 2000, in Omaha, Nebraska, but her heart was always as close to Lake Superior as she could get. She permanently resided in Wakefield so she could visit "her lake" anytime she wanted.
Cayley was employed at Wal-Mart in Ironwood until her health deteriorated. She enjoyed working with the public and had a smile and eyes that would light up any room. She truly enjoyed spending as much time as she could with her family. She was passionate about raising awareness about lupus.
Cayley was very artistic, she loved making jewelry, drawing, and always had fun doing her makeup. Anyone that knows Cayley knew she loved doing her make-up! She also had a soft spot in her heart for animals especially her pal with many names "Draco, Jack, Baby boy" the cat.
Cayley is survived by her mother, Nicole (Jared Brogan) Plochocki-Schnell of Bessemer; her father, Stuart (Melissa) Schnell of Omaha; sisters, Cammra Schnell and Casandra Schnell; brother, Michael Schnell, sisters, Madison Schnell and Murphy Jo Brogan; her cousin by name and sister by heart, Serenity Plochocki; uncles, Todd (Megan McClure) Plochocki and Lee Plochocki; cousin, Amelia Plochocki; great-aunts, Jaye D'Ann (Bobby Bussiere) Holmes, Gloria (Uncle Lynn) Austin and Julie (Dan) Milligan; many cherished friends including Alex Hedrickson; and numerous other family members.
She is preceded in death by her "Puppa" Eugene (Fuzzy) Plochocki.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, Feb. 19, 2022, at the VFW in Wakefield, from 1 to 3 p.m. CST with Pastor Todd officiating.
Donations in Cayley's memory can be made to the H.O.P.E. Animal Shelter, 509 Easy St., Ironwood MI 49938.
