Wakefield holds first reading of dog ordinance

Wakefield — The city of Wakefield planning commission conducted the first reading of an amended dog ordinance that puts tighter restrictions on dog owners, but does not limit the number of animals residents can own, during a brief meeting on Tuesday night. The ordiance will be read again during the commissions next meeting on March 8. It can then be adopted and published in the newspaper. It will take affect 30 days after publication.

The planning commission also held the second reading and adoption of the international maintenance code. The code establishes minimum maintenance requirements for existing buildings.

The commission then discussed the possibility of permitting tiny homes and regulating them. No action was taken.
