Clara Mae Lynn

IRONWOOD TOWNSHIP, Mich. - Clara Mae Lynn, 88, a longtime resident of Ironwood Township, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2022, at Howard Young Medical Center in Woodruff, Wisconsin.

Clara Mae was born on Sept. 30, 1933, in Bessemer, the daughter of Einar and Mabel (Johnson) Brown. She attended Ramsay School and graduated from A.D. Johnston High School in Bessemer, in 1951.

Clara Mae worked as a legal secretary and then as a deputy county clerk for Gogebic County.

On March 20, 1965, she married Robert B. Lynn at Sharon Lutheran Church in Bessemer. Clara Mae and Robert were blessed with two daughters.

She was a lifelong member of Sharon Lutheran Church and in her earlier years served as a Sunday school teacher, was a member of the choir and as the church treasurer.

Clara Mae took pleasure spending her free time outdoors hiking, canoeing and camping. She and Robert enjoyed traveling throughout the United States. Over the years, Clara Mae made a lot of beautiful needlepoint projects. She especially loved spending quality time with her grandson, Jason.

Clara Mae is survived by her loving husband, Robert; two daughters, Cheryl, Marshfield, Wisconsin, and Linnea (Floyd) Ramme, Ironwood; and a grandson, Jason Ramme.

She was predeceased by her parents.

A funeral service will be held Monday, Feb. 14, at 11 a.m., preceded by visitation at 10 a.m., at Sharon Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Nicole Hanson-Lynn officiating.

There will be a luncheon in the Kastman Hall at the church following the service.

A committal service and interment will take place at Hillcrest Cemetery in Bessemer, in the spring.

The family would like to thank Aspirus Ironwood Hospital emergency room staff as well as the Howard Young Medical Center intensive care unit staff for their kindness and expert care during this difficult time.
