IRONWOOD, Mich. - Carmen M. Puro, devoted child of God, passed away into eternity on Saturday morning, Jan. 29, 2022, at 2:29 a.m., at the hospital in Ironwood.
She was born June 12, 1951, in Dearborn, Michigan, to her beloved parents Oscar and "Jenny" Puro. They were originally from Finland. Her father lived here in Ironwood for a long time before marrying Carmen's mother and moving to Dearborn Heights in lower Michigan. Carmen's sister, Shirley, still lives in the Lower Peninsula.
Carmen has two children, Patrick and Erin, who live in Iowa and Arizona, separately. Carmen's son, Pat, is married to Emily, and they have twin sons and one daughter. Carmen loved her children and grandkids very, very much. Carmen is also survived by her husband of 25 years. Carmen was a wise, wonderful and caring, kind woman and wife, who will be missed by everyone who knew her.
Carmen spent her working years trying a lot of different jobs. She even was a car salesperson once and a travel agent. But, for most of her 30 working years, she was an administrative assistant, mostly working in offices in the field of the auto industry. She was a very talented people-person, who wasn't afraid to try and learn new things. She was just plain amazing!
She will be missed terribly by the many people who were lucky enough to have talked to her, and then listened to what she had to say. They were always full of joy afterwards and felt much better, too.
We will be talking about her at at a "Celebrate Carmen" party and service with dinner at the Lighthouse Faith Center Church on Saturday, March 12, at 5 p.m. Central Time. The new/old church is now open on the corner of Aurora and Norfolk streets in Ironwood, just across the street from the library.
Come celebrate Carmen's journey to heaven!
