MILWAUKEE — Geraldine “Gerry” Czajkowski passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 9, 2022, at age 91.
Gerry is survived by her partner, best friend and confidante of 65-plus years, John Petcoff. She is also survived by nieces and nephews, Dale (Jill), Sharon and Gary (Margaret) Czajkowski, Lynn (Carl) White, Mike (Barb) and Carol Petcoff (Frank Furdek), Linda (Rod) Gehrig, Charlotte Petcoff (the late Crist), Ann (the late Al) Anderson, Beth (Ron) Fisher, Boyd Anderson, Amy Simmons, Jayne Czajkowski and the late Karen Jansen; many cousins, grandnieces and grandnephews, and friends.
Gerry was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph “Joe Jelly” and Charlotte; older brother, Joseph Jr. (Grace); and younger brother, Daniel R. (Gracie).
Gerry was a longtime resident of the Milwaukee area, graduating from Bay View High School and working and retiring from Milwaukee Public Schools Recreation Department. She loved her German shepherds, Lobo and Candy. She also enjoyed the outdoors, especially gardening and watching the wildlife that came to her bird feeders. For years Gerry and John owned show horses and traveled the Midwest for competitions. In later years, they enjoyed going out for fish fries together.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 15, at 10 a.m. at St. Theresa of Calcutta Catholic Church, W314 N7462 State Highway 83, Hartland, Wisconsin, followed by a Communion Service at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Wisconsin Memorial Park in Brookfield, Wisconsin.
