Ironwood — A fire broke out in a home at 746 E. Leonard St. in Ironwood on Tuesday morning.
The Ironwood Public Safety Department was notified at 8:38 a.m. of the structure fire north of U.S. 2 and dispatched fire trucks, Lieutenant and Fire Marshal Brandon Snyder said.
By the time the public safety officers cleared the scene at 11:56 a.m., the house was totally lost to the fire, Snyder said.
There were no personal injuries, but there was damage to the adjacent home on 748 E. Leonard St., including melted siding and broken windows, he said.
The owners of the home that was lost to the fire are being assisted by the American Red Cross, which helps families recover from home fires, Snyder said.
Beacon Ambulance Service of Ironwood also responded to the fire, but no one needed to be transported for treatment of injuries.
