Gerald Kenneth Hakari

CLEVELAND, Ohio - Gerald Kenneth Hakari, age 82, passed away on March 17, 2022, in Cleveland. He resided in Amherst, Ohio.

Jerry was born on Oct. 18, 1939. He grew up in Ironwood, Michigan, and graduated from Luther L. Wright High School before joining the U.S. Navy. He returned to Ironwood to raise his family after his military service and work at General Motors.

Jerry/Butch/Butchie was a wonderful man and naval veteran who loved family (including all the puppies in his life), storytelling, music, dancing, good food, laughter and the USA.

He will be loved and remembered with joy by so many people including his wife, Maxine Hakari; daughters, Heidi Brazil (Hakari) and Casandra Hakari Lawson; stepson, Dennis Nanos; grandchildren, Amy Lawson, Sara Lawson and Jason Brazil; brother, Adrian Hakari, and sister, Lynne Reini Schedl; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

In lieu of money or flowers, please donate and recognize your local VA hospital and staff.
