IRONWOOD, Mich. - Edgar A. Bielecki, 87, of Bessemer, passed away on Monday, May 16, 2022, at the Aspirus Ironwood Hospital.
Edgar was born on Oct. 15, 1934, to Anton and Mary (Soyka) Bielecki in Bessemer. He was a 1953 graduate of A.D. Johnston High School. Edgar went on to serve in the U.S. Army, and he spent 18 months in Alaska as a crane operator before being honorably discharged in October of 1956. He then worked for the City of Bessemer for 40 years until retirement.
Edgar was united in marriage with Margaret Probelski in May of 1982, in Bessemer.
Edgar was a member of Marty's Goldenaires and a past commander. He was a member of the American Legion. Edgar loved to go hunting and fishing in his younger years. Later he enjoyed gardening, taking walks, cutting firewood, woodworking, yard work and watching the Green Bay Packers.
He will be missed by his wife of 40 years; Margaret; step-daughters, Virginia Maki-Crackel of Greely, Colorado, and Gail Maki-Dalbec of Bessemer; step-sons, Allen Maki of Bessemer, and Guy Maki of Dryden, New York; grandchildren, Shenna Washington, Cory Maki and Robert Maki; and four great-grandchildren. Edgar is further survived by many relatives and friends.
No formal services are taking place, a private family burial will be held.
