Patricia 'Pat' Angeline Bunjevac

WAKEFIELD, Mich. - Patricia "Pat" Angeline Bunjevac, age 89, entered into eternal rest on Dec. 20, 2021, with her husband of 70 years, John, by her side.

Pat was born on June 30, 1932, to parents Elizabeth "Liz" (Vida) and Francis "Frank" Rundell at their home in Ironwood (Aurora location). She attended Ironwood schools and graduated with the class of 1950. She was employed at the Silver Cup Café in Ironwood and Little Bohemia in Manitowish Waters, Wisconsin, before marrying her husband, John, on July 14, 1951, while he was serving in the U.S. Army. They lived for a short period of time in Indiana, where she was employed at a department store.

After moving back to Ironwood, she began working at the Hanson Glove Factory and shortly thereafter, welcomed their first daughter in 1953. She had two more children, a daughter in 1956 and a son in 1958, staying home to take care of her family and provide special care for her son until she began her career at the Red Owl grocery store. Starting in the meat department, Pat worked her way up to deli manager and after 20-plus years, retired to travel with her husband and spend time with her growing family. She hosted many holiday celebrations and get-togethers, always sharing her talent for cooking and baking to bring the family together. She was a fun-loving, adventurous, and generous soul who will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

She is survived by her husband, John; daughters, Colleen Volaski and Cheryl (Jeff) Johnson of Ham Lake, Minnesota; granddaughters, Leslie (Jon) Lemieux of Menasha, Wisconsin, Lisa Grimsby (Wiita), Megan Volaski of Hancock, and Kaylan Volaski; great-grandchildren, Lincoln and Jackson Lemieux, and Angeline, Michael and Madelyn Wiita; sisters, Shirley (Joe) Schibret of Burlington, Washington, Marlene (Don) Webster of Milwaukee, and Cyndee (Dave) Carlson; along with many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Mark; son-in-law, Raymond Volaski; her sister and brother-in-law, Bernadette and Donald Carlson; and several nieces and nephews.

Private services will be held at McKevitt-Patrick Funeral Home with burial at Riverside Cemetery on June 10.
