IRONWOOD, Mich. - John David Wroblewski, 83, of Ironwood, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 21, 2022, at the Aspirus Wausau Hospital in Wausau, Wisconsin, with his loving family by his side.
J. David was born on Jan. 16, 1939, at home in Bessemer, a son of Andrew and Marge (Hamel) Wroblewski.
He successfully completed Airborne School, the 101st Airborne Division, at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. J. David was honorably discharged on Dec. 10, 1959.
On April 28, 1962, he married Doris M. Dudra. Together they were blessed with three children, Kim, David and Michael.
J. David worked at White Pine Copper Company for 30 years. He also was the caretaker at the Ontonagon County Park on beautiful Lake Gogebic for 10 years.
One of his favorite places to spend time was his hunting camp. He loved to have the family there to hunt, fish and play with the kids.
J. David is survived by his beloved wife, Doris; a daughter, Kim (David) Rundell; a son, Mike; five dear grandchildren; five precious great-grandchildren; a brother, Joe (Marilyn); two sisters, Mary Jean Wroblewski, and Rita (David) Johnson; his sister-in-law, Connie Wroblewski; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, David, in 1992; two brothers, Jim and Allan; and a sister and brother-in-law, Carole and Gil Qualy and their two children.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 29, at 11 a.m., preceded by visitation at 10 a.m., at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, 108 S. Marquette St., in Ironwood, with the Rev. Binu Joseph, celebrant.
Rite of Committal and interment will take place at the Hillcrest Cemetery in Bessemer, where full military rites will be accorded.
