Ironwood — Ten9 Ministries returned to Ironwood’s Downtown City Square to share music and a Christian message Thursday evening.
This is the second year in Michigan that the Ten9 Ministries has been here.
Based in downstate Fenton, Ten9 Ministries is on a tour of the Upper Peninsula offering free events in different communities organizers call a Night of Hope.
Ten9 Ministries is led by Pastor Wes Morris. He said they work with local ministry partners in each community, often churches. For the Ironwood event, they partnered with Range Bible Church of Hurley. Morris said Range Bible reached out to them last year.
Ten9 comes and typically plays music for about 45 minutes to an hour, and shares a message of hope for 15 minutes, according to Morris.
The group started with Morris, his wife Erin Morris, Neil Thompson and Lyndsay Hudgens. The group played music and toured the world, but during the COVID pandemic their international travel was halted, so they started setting up tours within America.
The group is planning a trip to India for February 2023 for about a year, Morris said.
Morris said they are a non-denominational ministry and they partner with churches which understand what they do, spread the message of hope.
Morris said they named themselves Ten9 after the scripture Romans 10:9 — “If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”
This is the message of hope they take with them when they tour around the world and America, said Morris.
Morris said during COVID they started doing all their performances outside, so long as the weather is good.
