Jeannine Ann Swanson

EATONTON, Ga. — Jeannine Ann Swanson passed away on Sept. 14, 2022, following a serious illness surrounded by family and friends.

Jeannine was born Aug. 20, 1952, in Ironwood, Michigan, to Mary and Doug Swanson. She married Troy Westervelt, the love of her life, on Sept. 14, 2008. Jeannine was a force of nature her entire life. She graduated from Ashland High School in Ashland, Wisconsin, in 1970 and excelled in a variety of vocations, from fashion design to road construction. She retired in 2014 from her favorite job working as the secretary for North Woods Paving in Ashland. She was a voracious reader, a talented seamstress from beautiful quilts to Halloween costumes, and was an amazing cook.

Following retirement in 2014, Jeannine's dream was to live down south by a lake that "glistened like diamonds." Troy fulfilled that dream when they moved from Wisconsin to Georgia in 2015. She loved living in the south, but never missed an opportunity to say how much she missed northern Michigan and Wisconsin.

Jeannine is survived by her three siblings, Tina, Eric (JoAnn) and Susan; and many other family members and friends, including her best friend, Jeannie. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary and Doug Swanson; husband, Troy Westervelt; and brother-in-law, David Salweski.

Jeannine will be missed by many, may she rest in peace. "T" from Rick.
