IRONWOOD, Mich. — Larry A. Bahun, 71, formerly of Green Bay, Wisconsin, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2022, in the comfort of his home in Ironwood.
Larry was born on Nov. 9, 1950, to Tony and Venita (Swanbeck) Bahun. He was a graduate of Luther L. Wright High School with the class of 1968 in Ironwood.
In life, Larry was full of charm and loved the comfort of his family and close friends. Driving down a road not yet traveled, exploring what adventures it may have brought, was one of his favorite pastimes.
He was a very talented cook and hosted many gatherings with family and friends wowing their tastebuds with his delicious creations and confections. Sharing memories of growing up in the Upper Peninsula was another favorite pastime for him, along with his adventures in Minneapolis and Palm Springs, California. Many an ear listened as he related his chance meeting with one of the last survivors of the Titanic, and his once in a lifetime conversation with actresses Lucille Ball and Lana Turner.
In his later years, Larry was focused on being at home, caring for his four-legged canine friends, and watching old classic movies. One of his favorite movies was, "Chances Are," because it was a beautiful story about meeting loved ones after death. Larry believed and had great faith in God, that we would all be together again some day.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Bonnie Kivi. Surviving are his sister, Kathy (Donald) Jossart; his brother, Steve (Darlene) Bahun; and his nieces and nephews.
Larry will be laid to rest at Riverside Cemetery in Ironwood.
The family has chosen McKevitt-Patrick Funeral Home to honor Larry’s legacy of life. To leave an online condolence visit McKevittPatrickFuneralHome.com.
