Bernadette Ravelli

WAKEFIELD, Mich. — Bernadette Ravelli, 84, a longtime resident of Wakefield, passed away at home on Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.

Bernadette was born on May 30, 1938, in Wakefield, a daughter of Hannibal and Mary (Guglielmetti) Ravelli. She attended Wakefield Township Schools through the 11th grade and graduated from St. Joseph’s Academy in Stevens Point, Wisconsin, in 1956. Bernadette continued her education and graduated from Northland College in Ashland, Wisconsin, with a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education.

She taught for 32 years, the last 22 years at the Central Elementary School in Wakefield.

Bernadette was a faithful member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Wakefield, and a member of the Michigan Association of Retired School Personnel.

She enjoyed gardening, needlework and puzzles of all kinds.

Bernadette is survived by a sister, Irene “Bimi” Santo, Ventura, California; two nephews, Tom (Sharon) Ravelli and Joe (Tracey) Ravelli; and four nieces, Hope (Bob) Tarnaski, Debbie (Tom) Golden, Sherry Ravelli and Bernadette Ravelli.

She was predeceased by her parents; three brothers and three sisters-in-law, Louis and Pat Ravelli, Dennis and Judy Ravelli and Gabriel and Opal Ravelli; her brother-in-law, Gene Santo; and a nephew, Mike Ravelli.

Out of respect for her wishes, cremation has taken place.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Tuesday, Nov. 8, at 11 a.m., preceded by visitation at 10 a.m., at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 407 Ascherman St., in Wakefield, with the Rev. Dominic Agyapong, celebrant. Also, in attendance were the Immaculate Conception Women’s Guild Honor Guard.

Rite of Committal and interment followed at the Lakeside Cemetery in Wakefield.

Luncheon was served in the parish hall immediately upon return from the cemetery.

Dominic Agyapong for celebrating the Mass, Jodie DeCarlo Schneider for the beautiful music, Kathy Skolasinski for singing at the Mass, the Immaculate Conception choir, Bill Luoma for serving the Mass, the Immaculate Conception Women’s Guild and Honor Guard for their participation, Stems Flower Shop for the lovely floral arrangements, Paula Rigoni at Rigoni’s Bakery for the delicious meal and to Greg Yon and Jerald Rocco at Lakeside Memorial Chapel for their professional service.
