WAKEFIELD, Mich. — Sherry Fay (Risku) Kapugia, 78, of Wakefield, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2022.
Sherry was born in Bessemer, to John (Bill) and Feimi (Fay) (Leppala) Risku, on Feb. 4, 1944. She married Curt Matthew Kapugia on March 18, 1966. They shared 53 wonderful years of marriage together.
Sherry had an infectious laugh that would light up a room. She was a Jill of many talents. She loved picking rocks, buttons, sewing, painting, traveling, motorcycling, rummaging for special treasures and watching her grandson, Trevor, grow up.
Sherry is survived by two sons, Shane and Kyle (Julie); her grandson, Trevor; her sister-in-law, Paulette (Jerry) Strelcheck; her brother-in-law, Brian Kapugia; and many brothers and sisters in faith.
Sherry was preceded in death by her husband, Curt Matthew Kapugia; her parents; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Clarence and Valentina (Filippini) Kapugia; and her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Mary Ann and Richie Jacobson.
A funeral service led by Mike Peterson will be held on Saturday, Dec. 3. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. with the funeral service to follow at 1 p.m., at the Independent Apostolic Lutheran Church, 39074 Section 5 Road, in North York, Wisconsin.
