Susan Elise Anderson

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. - Susan Elise Anderson, daughter of Kimberly Kurta Martin and the late Daniel Todd Anderson and stepdaughter of David A. Martin Jr., passed away unexpectedly Saturday, Jan. 14, 2023, at the young age of 28.

Susan was born in Ironwood on Oct. 2, 1994, and attended school there until she transferred to Mt. Pleasant when she was 16 years old. She was loved by many communities and delivered laughter and joy to everyone she met. She was a sweet and special young lady that enjoyed life and the simple things.

Susan resided in Mount Pleasant with her foster parents Tom and Deanna Curtiss, where she graduated school and worked donating her time. She attended her training and activities for her Autism in lower Michigan where she was successfully achieving many goals.

Susan was a very brilliant soul with such an innocent sense of humor. Her hobby was crafting things and she loved to be outdoors riding ATVs, attending beagle trials, fishing and swimming. She will be missed dearly and remembered by all who knew her forever.

Susan is survived by her mother, Kimberly Kurta Martin; brother, Daniel Todd (Kelsey) Anderson II; stepfather, David A. Martin Jr .; sister, Sierra Anderson; niece, Ireland Rose Anderson; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Susan was preceded in death by her biological father, Daniel Todd Anderson; her Aunt Christine Kurta; her Uncle Keith Anderson; paternal grandparents, June Anderson and Charles Anderson; and maternal grandparents, Louis Kurta and Susan Kurta and Theresa Kurta.

A private gathering will be held for family at a later time.
