Howard M. Pollari

LIBERTYVILLE, Ill. - Howard M. Pollari, 97, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Feb. 9, 2023, at his home in Libertyville, Illinois. He was born June 1, 1925, in Ironwood, Michigan, and was formerly of St. Paul, Minnesota, living in Libertyville since 1963.

Howard was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps, serving in World War II as special operations with the Carpetbaggers group in the European Theater and received his mechanical engineering degree from Michigan Technological University. He was a former employee at Scott Atwater Outboard Marine Corp. in Minnesota and retired from Outboard Marine Corp. in Waukegan, Illinois.

Howard will be remembered as an outdoorsman that enjoyed fishing and boating and will be dearly missed by his family.

Surviving are his two daughters, Sandra Bean and Kathy (Jerry) Kachenko; three grandchildren, Andy (Shannon) Bean, Chris (Kelly) Bean and Tyler (Amy) Reynolds; seven great-grandchildren, Tucker, Austin, Ashlyn, McKinlee, Charlie, Makenna and Aaron; and by a sister, Gay Stevens.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Betty (nee Symons) Pollari in 2013; his daughter, Rebecca Reynolds in 2005; and by a brother, Curtis Pollari.

A visitation will begin at 10 a.m. followed by a service at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 17, at Burnett-Dane Funeral Home at 120 W. Park Ave. in Libertyville. Interment will follow to Lakeside Cemetery.
