IRONWOOD, Mich. - Mildred E. "Millie" (Kraynak) Potts, 83, of Ironwood, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 7, 2023, at Sky View Nursing Center in Hurley, Wisconsin.
Millie was born on Jan. 11, 1940, in Ironwood, a daughter of Joseph and Anna (Verbos) Kraynak. She attended schools in Ironwood and graduated from Luther L. Wright High School in 1957.
Millie married Richard B. Potts Sr., and relocated to Waukegan, Illinois, later to Kenosha, Wisconsin, and ending in Hurley.
During her life, she was a dedicated homemaker. Millie was employed as a kitchen aide at Pennoyer Home and a cleaner at Puppy Tub, both in Kenosha.
She enjoyed Bingo, the Chicago Bears and talking with her family over the telephone.
Millie is survived by her grandson, Richard B. Potts III, Waukesha; a brother, Thomas Kraynak, Ironwood; two sisters, Helen Vestich, Ironwood, and Elizabeth Barbarich, Detroit; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Richard B. Potts Jr., in 2018; two brothers, August "Bozo" Grbavcich and Joseph Kraynak; and three sisters, Kathleen Mewbourn, Ann Rondeau and Mary Lou Bach.
A special thank you to her favorite nurse, Katie Hamen, for cherishing Millie as one of her own family.
A celebration of her life will be announced at a later date.
