MARENISCO, Mich. - Patricia (nee Miller) Harris, of Marenisco, passed away peacefully on Friday, Aug. 4, 2023, after a short illness, at the age of 89.
The daughter of John W. and Alvina L. (Sonnenberg) Miller, she was born on May 18, 1934.
Patricia was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Glenn D. Harris II.
She is survived by her sons, John S. (Sheelah) Harris, Glenn D. Harris III and Andrew H. (Susanna) Harris; four grandchildren, Benjamin, Tyler, Dennis and Anna; and three great-grandchildren, Carson, Colby and Fisher.
Born in Lansing, Patricia grew up in both Lansing and Marenisco, and graduated high school in 1952 from St. Joseph Academy in Adrian, Michigan. In adulthood, she lived in Lansing, Harbor Springs, Charlevoix, Kalamazoo, Naubinway and Marenisco - all in Michigan.
A multifaceted personification of what a lady is and should be, Patricia was a master in the kitchen, a superlative decorator, epitomized grace and class, had an eye for fashion like no other and - most importantly - was what can be described as not only a superb mother and wife, but a ceaseless force of love in all lives she touched. Every room was brightened by her arrival, every friendship lasted a lifetime and her personality imbued a rare vibrance that could be felt as well as seen.
Patricia leaves a vast wake of family and friends who are forever grateful for having this sterling human being, mother, friend, confidant and influence on our lives. Like the earth she just left, now the kingdom of Heaven becomes a brighter, better and more intriguing place now that she has been called home.
Patricia's life will be celebrated privately with her family at a time to be determined.
