WAUSAU, Wis. - Wanda Sue Holmes passed away peacefully on Aug. 1, 2023, at Mount View Care Center in Wausau, from a brave battle from ALS.
Wanda was born in Woodruff on April 19, 1962, to the late Vanard and Judith Babic.
Wanda lived her childhood years in Mercer, and was a homemaker for many years raising her children. After children were raised, she enjoyed working alongside her sister, Renee, housekeeping at Dairymen's resort.
Wanda loved spending time with her grandchildren caring for them and introducing them to her favorite movies, one in particular being the "The Wizard of Oz." Wanda also loved spending time with her furry and faithful companion Scrappy and cheering on her favorite football team the Kansas City Chiefs. She loved oldies music, especially Elvis Presley.
Wanda is survived by her sisters, Melissa Richards and Valerie Babic; and her children, Kristy (Kevin) Kangas, Michael Brownell, Justin (Katie) Brownell and Tiffany Reisman. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Riley, Reagan, Emily, Makenna, Kinsley, Ava, Braxton, Grayson, Zayden and Aliana.
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Judy; her son, Ryan; her grandson, Carston; and her sister, Renee.
A celebration of Wanda's life will be Sunday, Sept. 3, at the Iron Belt Community Center at 2 p.m. for family and friends.
