SIDNAW, Mich. - Patricia Ann Champine, age 96, of Sidnaw, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2023, at U.P. Health System in Marquette.
Patricia was born May 18, 1927, in Flint, daughter to Carl and Della (Dunham) Anderson. She graduated in 1945 from Trout Creek High School. She married Harold Champine in 1947 in Baraga County and they resided in Sidnaw.
Patricia was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, member of the Sidnaw Episcopal Church, served on the Sidnaw Township Board and was employed by the L'Anse School District as a bus driver. Over the years, she was a waitress, bartender, cook at Camp Nesbit, custodian for a Wisconsin hospital, and a caretaker for her loved ones. Her hobbies were baking, yard work, and working on her word searches; and she would challenge her family members with card games.
Surviving are her daughter, Sally (Stanley) Niemi of Skandia; grandchildren, Hana (Chris) Blissett of St. Louis Park, Minnesota, Haran Niemi of Littleton, Colorado, and Emily (Aaron) Bradley of Marquette; great-grandchildren, Miles, Matthias and Della Blissett, Kyla Niemi, and Aiden and Allie Bradley; her sister, Katherine Price of Las Vegas, Nevada; her sister-in-law, Janice Anderson of Dunedin, Florida; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death are her parents, Carl and Della Anderson; husband, Harold; brothers, Robert (Ethel), Bill (Barbara) and Doug; sisters, Betty Tschury (Lee) and Rosemary Yoemans (Larry); brother-in-law, Ray Price; and grandchild, Bethany Niemi.
A graveside service will be held on Sunday, Nov. 12, at 2:30 p.m. at the Sidnaw Cemetery.
A memorial celebration will follow from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Methodist Church. In case of inclement weather, the graveside service will be held at the church.
