Thane E. Peterson

WAKEFIELD, Mich. - Thane E. Peterson, 64, of Wakefield, passed away Sunday, Dec. 17, 2023, at his home, with his mother holding his hand, and his brother, Dean, and sister-in-law, Sue Ellen, at his side.

He was born May 20, 1959, in Manistique, a son of Donna Schultz and John Peterson.

Thane was a faithful member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church and at one time served on the Board of Elders. In his free time, he was an avid hunter and a dedicated volunteer.

Thane is survived by his loving mother, Donna; a brother, Dean (Sue Ellen); a sister, Renee Boyke; his sister-in-law, Corrine Dutkovich; a stepsister, Marylynn (Mike) Campagna; six nephews, Johnathon (Jessica), Shawn (Madison), Chase (Sara), Tyler, Danny and Joey; a niece, Paige (Jerad); a great-nephew and three great-nieces; an uncle and two aunts, Chum and Nancy Bertetto and Marian Bertetto; and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, John; his stepfather, Bill Schultz; and a brother, Burt.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, Dec. 30, at 11 a.m., preceded by visitation at 9:30 a.m., at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Timothy J. Steckling officiating.

A committal service and interment will take place at the Lakeside Cemetery in Wakefield, in the spring.
