Lorraine L. 'Pud' Anderson

MARENISCO, Mich. - Lorraine L. "Pud" Anderson, 99, a longtime resident of Marenisco, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2024, at the Gogebic Medical Care Facility in Wakefield.

Lorraine was born on Dec. 20, 1924, in Ashland, Wisconsin, a daughter of Reinhold and Laura (Rominske) Ryskey. She attended Roosevelt High School in Marenisco and graduated in 1943.

On Nov. 3, 1945, Lorraine was united in marriage to Lynard E. Anderson in Chicago.

For 25 years, she was employed at the Victor Manufacturing and Gasket Company in Chicago.

Lorraine and her husband moved back to Marenisco in 1968.

She was a faithful member of the Messiah Lutheran Church in Marenisco. Her hobbies included fishing, gardening, quilting and sewing. She was a meticulous homemaker and was an excellent cook and baker. Lorraine worked for many years on pasty sales and funeral luncheons. She was one of the ladies that contributed her time and talents to local functions. Lorraine made beautiful quilts for many people and sewed nightgowns and pajamas for the little ones.

Lorraine is survived by two sisters, Marcella Miskovich, Wakefield, and Gladys Roland, Schofield, Wisconsin; two sisters-in-law, Earla Ryskey, Marenisco, and Dorothy Ryskey, Fayetteville, Arkansas; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lynard, on Nov. 29, 2009; three brothers, Rudolph "Rudy," Arnold and Clarence Ryskey; and two sisters, Alice Pflanzer and Margaret Swindle.

A funeral service was held on Tuesday, Feb. 13. The Rev. Steve Hyvonen officiated.

Interment will take place at the Marenisco Cemetery, in the spring.
