Carol Jean Zivic

TUCSON, Ariz. - Carol Jean Zivic went to be with our Lord on Feb. 17, 2024.

The former Carol Jean Engebretsen was born in 1939 in Escanaba, Michigan, to parents John Leif Engebretsen and Marion Stuart (Perkins) Engebretsen.

Carol graduated from Luther L. Wright High School in Ironwood, Michigan, in 1957. She attended Gogebic Community College in Ironwood until 1959 when she married William Thomas Zivic Sr.

After son William Thomas Zivic Jr. was born in 1960, the family moved to Tucson, where Bill Sr. worked for the Tucson Police Department as a detective.

Carol became involved in the family art business when they opened an art gallery in the Tucson Mall. She did the matting, framing and bookkeeping for the business. The Zivic's ran Zivic Art Studio in the Tucson Mall from 1982 to 2002 when they both retired.

Carol was a kind and caring person who lived life the way our Lord would want us to live it. She had a good sense of humor, and was always ready to help anyone in need. Family and many friends will miss her.

She was preceded in death by her parents. Carol is survived by her husband, William T. Zivic Sr .; sons, William (Susan) and John (Tamera); grandchildren, Jerald, Steven and Samantha; and great-grandchildren Laurel, Roselyn and Fox.

A memorial Mass will be celebrated at Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church in Tucson, on March 5 at 11 a.m.
