FAIRHOPE, Ala. - Muriel Fay Polvi, age 85 of Fairhope, Alabama, passed away on Jan. 3, 2024, just weeks after her husband, Ron. She was born and raised in Ironwood, Michigan.
After graduating from Luther L. Wright High School in Ironwood, Fay married the love of her life, Ron Polvi. They were married for 67 years and raised three children, Christopher, Ronilyn and Tracy.
Fay held several jobs as a bookkeeper. Through the years, she enjoyed reading and painting, and as an accomplished cook and baker, she really enjoyed cake decorating classes. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Fay and Ron's early retirement years were spent traveling in their RV throughout the U.S. and Canada, spending time with family and friends. In 2005, the couple retired from traveling and settled in Fairhope.
Fay was preceded in death by her husband, Ron Polvi; parents, Arnold and Mary Ellen Richards; brothers, Lloyd Richards, James Loran Richards, Bill Richards and Tom Richards; and sister, Gerry Gossen.
Fay is survived by her son, Christopher Polvi (Lori); daughters, Ronilyn Polvi (Jasper Burr) and Tracy (Joe) Struzyk; grandchildren, Megan Polvi, Amanda Polvi, Christopher Polvi, Stephanie Struzyk (Spencer) Lewis, Jacob Struzyk, Martin Struzyk, Alexis Struzyk (Chris Evans) and Hannah Struzyk (Ben Akinde); great-grandchild, Tristian Polvi; and many other relatives and friends.
Fay will be buried with Ron at the Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery at Spanish Fort.
At a later date, the family plans to host a celebration of life in Fay and Ron's hometown of Ironwood.
