WHITE PINE, Mich. - Kathleen Raymond (McGrath) Marchand, 76, of White Pine, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 8, 2024, surrounded by her loving husband, daughter, grandson and son-in-law after a short battle with lung cancer.

Kathleen was born on Jan. 11, 1948, to George and Lucille McGrath in Cranford, New Jersey. After Kathleen graduated from Cranford High School in 1966, she met the love of her life, Robert Peter Marchand. They married on July 1, 1967. Kathleen and Robert, along with their two children, Dorothy and Christopher, moved to White Pine in 1972.

Kathleen began her career in admission at La Croix hospital for 10 years until it's closure, and then went on to dedicate her next 20 years as the administrative secretary to five incredible White Pine School District superintendents, until the school's closure in 2008. She was "Warrior Strong."

Kathleen enjoyed vacationing in South Carolina with her daughter, sisters and nieces, as well as vacationing in Alpena on Long Lake with her husband, daughter, son-in-law and grandson. She also loved her Bunco girls so much and her close friendships with each and every one of them.

Kathleen is survived by her one true love, Robert Marchand; her sunshine and daughter, Dorothy Pintar; her favorite son-in-law, John; the apple of her eye and grandson, Tyler Pintar (Breana Daleski); her beloved sisters, Lucille Chaput and Dorothy Salonen (Sherman); her BFF, Marybeth Barlock (Richard); and 34 nieces and nephews that she adored with all her heart. Kathleen also leaves behind four wonderful sisters-in-law and three amazing brothers-in-law, and more family and friendships she will hold close to her heart eternally.

Kathleen was predeceased by her beloved son, Christopher Robert Marchand; father, George McGrath; her mother, Lucille McGrath; her brother, Kenneth McGrath; and her brother-in-law, Michael Chaput.

A celebration of her life will be held for Kathy's family and friends at the Konteka in White Pine, on Saturday, April 13, from 1 to 4 p.m.
