Members of the Ironwood high school football team are among the volunteers helping unload a monthly delivery from a Feed America Western Michigan semi trailer on Tuesday morning at the St. Vincent de Paul food pantry in Ironwood. Pantry spokesperson Betty Perkis said it was the second time the team has help unload and then stock the shelves and freezers with the boxes. There were 10 members of the team working along side coaches Kevin Lane and Tony Bunt, as well as others. Perkis said the delivery included frozen meat and fruit, vegetables and dry goods. She said they serve 300 families a month, figuring that to be 500 to 600 people. She said they've also had the Ironwood JROTC and National Honor Society members help with other deliveries.
