Construction workers dig on U.S. 51 in downtown Hurley just south of Silver Street on Tuesday morning as a summer-long water and sewer project along the highway through town begins. The detour for U.S. 51 traffic from the north has drivers taking Fifth Avenue south and turning east on Copper Street. From the south, it's the reverse.
