Ironwood — The Gogebic-Iron County Airport held its June meeting on Monday.
The board voted to change the time that they meet to be at 5 p.m. on the second Tuesday of every month, a change that came about due to conflicting schedules for several board members.
The meeting location will remain at the airport offices at E5560 Airport Road in Ironwood Township.
The board also heard a presentation from airport manager Jeremy Busch regarding the goings-on of the airport and how everything was running at this point in time. Busch was optimistic.
According to Busch, the FAA inspector had visited recently for a routine inspection and commented on how well maintained the airport/airfield were.
At this time, he is still awaiting the final report.
He also spoke about recent training efforts and how team members have been settling in.
He invited the board members to come tour the airport some time, and see how it all works.
“I’ll give you the tour and show you what goes on,” he said.
In other news, the board:
—Approved the reports as presented.
—Approved the financial matters as presented.
—Spoke about the policy regarding flights deals offered to local businesses that frequently travel during the year. The board requested a copy of what goes into it, so they can answer questions if the opportunity arises.
