Michael W. Antoine

WHITE PINE, Mich. – Michael W. Antoine, 65, of White Pine, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 7, 2024.

Michael was born on Oct. 5, 1958, in Wakefield, a son of Elaine (Powell) and Roland Antoine Sr. He grew up in Ramsay. In 1972, his family moved to White Pine, and he attended White Pine High School and graduated in 1977. Mike continued his education at the Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, New York, and at Michigan Technological University in Houghton.

Mike was an Elder tribal member of the Little River Band of Ottawa Indians in Manistee, and he was intensely proud of his Native American heritage.

Mike enjoyed skiing and was on the ski patrol, participated in four-wheeling and loved the outdoors. He overcame many difficulties with his hearing disability.

Mike was employed by General Motors. He concluded his working career as a mechanical engineer for several window companies.

Mike is survived by three brothers, Steve, Jake and Jeff; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; and many friends.

He was predeceased by his parents; a brother, Rocky; and his sister-in-law, Joan Antoine.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, June 22, at 11 a.m., preceded by visitation at 10 a.m., at St. Catherine Catholic Church, 407 Main St., in Marenisco, with the Rev. Dominic Agyapong, celebrant.

Rite of Committal and interment will follow at Marenisco Cemetery.
