Ironwood — Members of the Gogebic-Iron County Airport Board met the new Denver Air station manager, Logan Olkonen, at their July meeting on Monday.

Current station manager Chris Anderson has taken a new position in Phoenix and is currently training Olkonen to fill the role here in Ironwood.

Anderson said that he will remain with Denver Air, and in the same capacity, simply at a new location. He added that, if board members have any questions, they are welcome to call him as Olkonen settles in to his role.

The board also heard the manager’s report from airport manager Jeremy Busch.

Busch spoke with the board regarding the usage of his personal phone for airport business, as that was how many of his contacts have been reaching him.

According to the board, previous airport manager Todd Richter had an arrangement wherein his phone was part of the airport’s phone plan.

Rather than transfer all of his data over to a new plan, Busch elected instead to receive compensation monthly to help pay for the costs of phone usage, which the board approved.

In other news, the board approved all reports as presented and approved appropriations for the month of June.
