IRONWOOD - Charles "Chuck" Allen Lotzer, 85, of Ironwood, passed away with his family by his side at his home on Friday, July 19, 2024.
Chuck was born on Feb. 23, 1939, at home in Ironwood to Charles and Lillie (Erickson) Lotzer. He was a 1957 graduate of Luther L. Wright High School in Ironwood. He attended Michigan Tech studying mechanical engineering. He then served two years in the U.S. Army. On Nov. 29, 1980, he was united in marriage with Pauline "PJ" Joki and they raised eight children together.
Chuck had a few jobs throughout his life, but he loved being the manager for the Civic Center in Ironwood. His biggest love and passion was skiing Chuck enjoyed the outdoors going hunting, fishing, and spending time at the camp, where the family would spend their summers.
Chuck is survived by his six children, Debbie (Craig) Jensen of Fenton, Michigan, Lisa (Chris) Sowinski of Ramsay, Christopher (Denise) of Iron Belt, Jackie (Tim) Minier of Hurley, Amy (Steven) Stoltenberg of Ironwood and Mike (Amanda) of Bessemer; sister, Marilynn (John) Moon of Crystal Falls; daughter-in-law, Stephanie Lotzer of Germany; 17 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren, along with other relatives and friends, including good friend Nancy Sass.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and two sons, Charles Jr and Theodore.
No formal services are taking place. Burial will be held at Riverside Cemetery in Ironwood. A celebration of life will be held at the family camp on Sunday, July 28, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
