WAUSAU, Wis. - Harry "Rick" R. Chiochios, 76, of Watersmeet, Mich., passed away on July 23, 2024, at Wausau Aspirus Hospital.
Rick was born in Phelps, to Sam and Fern Chiochios on April 28, 1948. He graduated from Watersmeet Township School and worked for the Forest Service as a forestry/wildlife technician until his retirement. Rick served in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged on Jan. 1, 1974. Rick's dedication to his country continued with being a member of the American Legion Post 417, where he made many lifelong friends. Rick was an avid outdoorsman and spent countless hours chasing rabbits, deer, and partridge. Hillbilly Heaven was his favorite place and his memory will forever live on at the lake.
Rick is survived by his sons, Ricky (Jess) and Kyle (Manda); sister, Koni Lindholm; and grandchildren, Kyle, Sammy and Lily Chiochios. Rick's bright blue eyes always sparkled when his grandchildren were around. He is also survived by extended family; many hunting buddies and the Roadhouse Crew.
Rick was preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law, Terry Lindholm; his beloved son, Blake Chiochios; and several close friends.
Services will be on Thursday, August 1, at the Watersmeet Bible Church. Visitation will be from from 11 a.m. to noon and the church service at noon. Burial and military rights will be at the Watersmeet Cemetery following the church service. Immediately following burial will be a luncheon at the Watersmeet Bible Church.
