Marty's annual picnic draws huge crowd

ON SATURDAY evening, members of a Color Guard guide Marty's Goldenaires Drum and Bugle Corps along the side of American Legion Post 27 in Bessemer, with James Partanen leading the way. They were about to perform in Marty's annual town picnic, which was anchored on the Legion lawn by several tents to house guest bands, food and beverage service areas, ticket sales, a raffle prize area, a Marty's merchandize station and lounging areas for the crowd. Among just some of the prizes from local businesses were oil changes, gift cards, a leaf blower, a blanket and free restaurant meals.
