MERCER, Wis. - Audrey (Sullivan) Guild, 92, of Mercer, passed away peacefully on Aug. 19, 2024.
Audrey was born on March 24, 1932, to Patrick and Rose Sullivan in south Chicago, Illinois, where she eventually met the love of her life, Harry "Bud" Guild. Together, they built a beautiful life, raising five children: Kelly, James, Todd, Audrey "Pix" and Timothy.
In 1971, with dreams of a quieter, simpler life, they relocated their family to Mercer, where they purchased Timberlane Resort on Wilson Lake.
Audrey was a devout member of the Catholic Church, where she served as treasurer for many years. She actively participated in several civic and social clubs throughout the 53 years she called Mercer home. She will always be remembered as a beautiful woman with a contagious laugh whose door was always open (especially when The Wheel of Fortune was on). As a compassionate and honest person, she listened, loved and helped many others along the way.
Audrey will be immeasurably missed by her five children, 23 grandchildren and great-grandchildren, sister, many nieces and nephews, and dear friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents and three of her siblings. While we grieve the loss of her life, we celebrate her legacy, taking comfort in knowing that she is reunited with so many of her loved ones, walking alongside us in spirit.
A service will be held in her honor at 10 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 23, at the Mercer Catholic Church, with refreshments to follow.
