DULUTH, Minn. - Darren James Siirila, 57, of Hurley, Wisconsin, passed away on July 5, 2024, at Saint Mary's Hospital in Duluth, Minnesota.
Darren was born April 28, 1967, the son of Yvonne (Peltonen) Morzenti and James Siirila. He graduated from J.E. Murphy High School in 1985.
Darren enjoyed living in different cities throughout Wisconsin and excelled in many business ventures throughout his life. His most recent was Doogie's Dugout in Hurley. Darren also enjoyed spoiling his two granddaughters.
Darren is survived by his father, Jim; stepfather, Gary Morzenti; children, Matt (Alexandra) Siirila and Aspen (Andrew) Streiff; granddaughters, Raiden and Pepper Streiff; siblings, K.J. Siirila, Shannon Siirila and Megan (Troy) Trulove; nieces and nephews, Bryce, Nolan, Ava and Sophia; and many close aunts, uncles, cousins and good friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Yvonne "Sookie" Morzenti; and his infant son, Nathan.
Per Darren's wishes, cremation has taken place and a graveside ceremony will be held at Calvary Cemetery in Upson, Wisconsin, on Sept. 14, at 11 a.m. with desserts to follow at the Upson Town Hall.
