Richard "Rick" W. Hewitt Jr.

COLDWATER, Mich. - Richard "Rick" W. Hewitt Jr., 62, of Coldwater, Michigan, passed away with his loving sisters at his side following a brief battle with cancer.

Rick was born Dec. 16, 1961, to the late Richard and Kathy (Packmayer) Hewitt. He attended the Ironwood Schools, graduating with the class of 1980 before going on to work for many years as a carpenter. Carpentry was his passion. You could often find him doing side jobs on his days off for family and friends. At the time of his passing, he was employed by EXO-S plastic fabrication of Coldwater, where he spent the last 23 years of his life. There wasn't a job he couldn't do.

Rick was a quick-witted person who loved to hunt, fish and go camping. He especially loved spending time with family while enjoying the great outdoors up north near his hometown of Ironwood. He had a great love for music, singing along to his favorite songs, especially his favorite band, Creed. Rick you will be missed by many.

Fly high, big brother.

Surviving are his three daughters, Alyssa (Alex) Troiani, Paige (Steven) Hewitt and Whitney Hewitt; grandchildren, Brookelynn, Chloe and Brantley; loving sisters, Paula (Mark) Sbraggia, Bonnie (Ryan) Krenzalek and Carri (Richie) Hewitt/Galarno; nieces and nephews, Nicole (Brandon) Pertile, Cory (Heather) Sbraggia, Sammi Sbraggia, Josh Krenzalek, Cassie (Travis) Harman and Maddee Hewitt; also many great nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his grandparents, Johan and Stella Packmayer; Richard (Red) and Fannie Hockin, and Jack Hewitt.

Per Rick's wishes, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be planned for a later date.
