BESSEMER, Mich. - Joseph Robert Wroblewski gained his angel wings on Saturday evening, Sept. 14, 2024, surrounded by his family.
Those of us that were blessed to have Joe in our lives knew he would always bring a smile to your face. He was devoted to his family.
He was born on June 8, 1936, at Newport Hospital in the Jessieville neighborhood of Ironwood, to Andrew and Margaret (Hamil) Wroblewski. Both preceded him in death.
He graduated from Bessemer High School. Joe was a member of the Army Airborne 101st. He worked at Kimberly Clark, American Motors, White Pine Copper Range and Big Powderhorn Ski Rental.
On May 4, 1963, Joe married the love of his life, Marilyn (Richardson) Wroblewski, at St. Sebastian Church in Bessemer. They shared 60 years together, living in Milwaukee, Kenosha, White Pine and Bessemer until Marilyn's death on Nov. 7, 2023. They were blessed with four children.
Joe enjoyed spending time with his family, making memories that included family trips, camping, skiing, snowmobile and attending his children's and grandchildren's sporting events, concerts and activities.
He was a very religious man. He was an usher for many years, donating his time to make pasties and volunteering for church activities.
Joe was an avid Green Bay Packers, Detroit Red Wings and Detroit Tigers fan. He enjoyed reading westerns, doing Sudoku and playing cribbage and Farkle.
Joe always had a beaming smile on his face and tried to be a jokester. He always greeted everyone with a "good morning" no matter the time of day or night.
Joe is survived by his four children, Rodney (Salli) Wroblewski, Danielle (Dave) Tiberg, Brian (Melissa) Wroblewski and Lynn (Denny) Pritzl; nine grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Rita (Dave) Johnson and Mary Jean Wroblewski; a brother-in-law, Bruce (Holly) Richardson; sisters-in-law, Doris and Connie Wroblewski; and several nieces and nephews.
Joe was also preceded in death by his three brothers, James, Allen and David; and a sister, Carol.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, Sept. 30, at noon, preceded by visitation at 11 a.m., at St. Sebastian Catholic Church, 210 E. Iron St., in Bessemer, with the Rev. Dominic Agyapong, celebrant. Military rites and luncheon will follow at the church.
