Gerald 'Jerry' Jon Gorshe

IRON MOUNTAIN, Mich. - Gerald "Jerry" Jon Gorshe, 70, formerly of Watersmeet, passed away Sunday, Sept. 15, 2024, in hospice in Iron Mountain, Michigan.

Gerald was born June 7, 1954, to the late Francis Gorshe and Dorothy (Sorlie) Haken.

Gerald attended school in Watersmeet and then joined the U.S. Army. He worked various jobs painting, cleaning and as a handyman. He had COPD and resided in Wausau until moving to hospice care. Gerald enjoyed playing cards, casinos and computer games. He had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to make people laugh. He also loved his cat, who will miss him, along with everyone that knew him.

Gerald is survived by his brothers, Harold (Margot) Allen of Minneapolis, and Timothy (Carmen) Gorshe of Cibolo, Texas; sisters, Mary Malinowski of Wausau, Wisconsin, and Ann (Greg) Baker of Wakefield; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; stepmother, Herbertine Gorshe; brothers, Francis "Joe" Gorshe and Robert "Tom" Gorshe; and his grandmother, Ragna Nelson.

Per Gerald's wishes, there will be no service. He will be buried next to his father at the Watersmeet Township Cemetery.
