STEVENS POINT, Wis. - Alice Irene Voss, age 95, passed away on Sept. 16, 2024, in Stevens Point, Wisconsin.
Born on Aug. 24, 1929, Alice dedicated much of her life to education, having taught kindergarten in Milwaukee for five years before a long and esteemed 30-year tenure at the Mercer School District.
Alice was a cherished educator remembered fondly by numerous students whose lives she touched. Beyond her professional achievements, she was a long-time member of the Mercer Methodist Church, reflecting her commitment to her community and faith.
Her personal joys included the serene moments spent with husband Robert at her beloved home on Pine Lake, where she enjoyed 59 years of lakeside tranquility.
Alice was preceded in death in 2016 by her husband, Robert Voss.
She leaves behind a loving family: her son, Jeffrey Voss of Stevens Point; daughters, Patricia Lamarche of Pence, and Lori Smaglik (Rich) of Stevens Point; grandchildren, Charles Lamarche Jr., Andrea Meleen, Ryan, Allison, Lindsay Smaglik, Robby Voss, Colten Voss and Loren Danielson; eight great-grandchildren; and her sister-in-law, Ardith Paternoster.
A small private ceremony will be held at Mercer Cemetery, honoring Alice's life and legacy.
Alice's life was a testament to her dedication to education, her faith, and her family, leaving behind a legacy that will be cherished and remembered by all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and loved by her family.
