Kathleen Pertile

BESSEMER, Mich. - Kathleen Pertile, 89, of Bessemer, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 26, 2024, at Aspirus Ironwood Hospital in Ironwood.

Kathleen was born on Sept. 13, 1935, in Ironwood, to the late John "Scoop" and Anna (Sekelsky) Carli. She attended St. Ambrose School in Ironwood and graduated in 1935.

Kathleen worked in retail at Ben Franklin in Bessemer and Ironwood for more than 40 years. She was always known for how classy she dressed, always wearing earrings, pins and necklaces to match, with a very big smile.

Kathleen took pride in her home, flowers and especially enjoyed decorating for the holidays and making Christmas cookies and her delicious kolache. However, she was the proudest of her children, grandchildren and great-grandsons and enjoyed spending time with family. She was very generous and loving, always wanting to help others. She was just the best.

Kathleen will be missed by her daughters, Tonette (Bob) Obradovich and Suzette Pertile; four grandchildren, Bobbi Jo (Taylor) Carroll, Cali (J.J.) Aspinwall, Carli (Ty) Patritto and Mercedes Anderson (Ryan); four great-grandchildren, Finn, Jamison, Camden and Cash; a sister, Peggy Cramblit; and many nieces, nephews, neighbors and dear friends.

She has now been reunited with her family who have gone before her, including her parents; her husband, Tony; a son, Jerry; two brothers, Dave and Dale; two sisters, Nita and Joyce; her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; and nieces.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 19, at 11 a.m., at the Hillcrest Cemetery in Bessemer. The Rev. Dominic Agyapong, pastor of St. Sebastian Catholic Church, will officiate.

The family would like to thank staff at the Gogebic Medical Care Facility in Wakefield for their kindness and care during Kathleen's stay there.
