WAKEFIELD, Mich. - Peggy Lynn (nee Haight) (Newberry) Shuping, 80, of Wakefield, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2024, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on Sept. 23, 1944, in Arco, Idaho, a daughter of Charles and Lola (Hensley) Haight.
Peggy leaves behind her husband of 42 years, Jackson "Ed" Shuping; six children, Peggy Lynne Zaragosa, Billie Jo Sharp, Michael (Kristie) Newberry, Clinton "Wally" Newberry, Tressie Newberry and Sarah (Rocky) Brozzo; two brothers, Clarence Haight and Kim (Lisa) Haight; a sister, Carol Christensen; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a son, James Meikle.
Her son, Wally, writes, "And there she goes again, off to dig her feet in the soil of the ground, off to feel the sunshine warm her skin, out there feeling the wind stroke her hair, and still making wishes on weeds. She is part of the earth, you know? And that is where you will always find her, for nature speaks so kind to her and she deserves and needs that. That's where her soul feels most at home. Rest in peace mom."
Cremation has taken place and there will be no service.
